Fold & Flip (“the app”) is made by Nikhil Kishore, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website.
In short: we do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not send anything to us.
1. Information we collect
None. The app does not send any information to us or to any server we run. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
The app does not ask for, and cannot reach, your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data or any other device permission.
2. Information stored on your device
To work, the app saves the following on your iPhone only:
- your settings (skill, haptics, sound, house rules, Play by and hinge timing);
- your match history and replays, Daily Flip streaks and personal bests;
- your reading marks: highlights, pencil notes, bookmarks, text size and the last page read in each book;
- scores waiting to be posted to Game Center while you are offline.
This information never leaves your device unless you share it yourself (section 4). It may be included in your iCloud or computer backups if you have turned those on in iOS; Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy. Deleting the app removes everything it saved.
3. Game Center (Apple)
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app posts the scores from ranked matches (Quick Match, Survival and Daily Flip) to Game Center leaderboards. Game Center is a service run by Apple. Apple decides how your Game Center nickname and scores are stored and who can see them, under the Game Center settings on your device and Apple’s privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
The app does not store your Game Center details or send them anywhere else. Game Center is optional: if you are not signed in, the app works fully and nothing is posted.
4. Things you choose to share
The app can create a Daily Flip share card (plain text) and a match log export (a CSV file). Neither is sent anywhere unless you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet. Once shared, the information is handled by the app or person you sent it to, under their own terms and privacy policy.
5. Information Apple may provide to us
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics about the app, such as crash reports and install counts. These do not identify you. You can turn this off at any time in the same setting.
6. This website
This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web host, Google may process standard server logs, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect the pages. The site uses no cookies, analytics or advertising.
7. Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
8. Your rights
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. You stay in control of the data on your device: you can clear it at any time by deleting the app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have rights over personal data; you are welcome to contact us with any request or question. We do not sell or share personal information.
9. Security
Your data stays inside the app’s private storage on your device, protected by iOS. We never receive it, so it cannot be exposed by a breach of our systems.
10. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what is described here, for example by adding optional downloads or crash reporting, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that version is released, and change the effective date above.
